Amy's Creative Cakes

My Objective
The objective of my business is to provide a high quality, professionally decorated, custom cake and personal service for customers.  My cakes not only look wonderful but also taste wonderful.  I make edible art.

My Background
My talent comes from my love of baking at an early age. As a teen I would bake for friends and family. I hold a BS in Marketing and a BA in Business from DeSales University.

In 2004 I was trained by Wilton Industries and started teaching Cake Decorating Classes. Since then, I taught over 1,100 students the Art of Cake Decorating in Quakertown and the surrounding areas. Every year, I attend training sessions from Wilton Industries to keep current with trends and further my skills by taking classes with renowned sugar artists from around the world.

With the demand for a higher quality cake and my passion in the art of cake decorating, I decided to open Amy’s Creative Cakes in June 2006. I now serve many repeat customers from Bucks and Montgomery counties and surrounding areas.

I taught Cake Decorating at the Cooking Cottage a private cooking school in Sellersville.  Currently, I teach the Wilton Method of cake decorating at Michaels’ Arts and Crafts in Quakertown and the Art of Cake Decorating at Quakertown High School and the Upper Bucks Vocational School. In 2012 we have opened a class room at Amy's Creative Cakes in Quakertown teaching specialty classes in cake artistry.

In 2009, I organized a cake competition to benefit the Quakertown Food Pantry. I have also judged a live cake competition at the Cove Country Cake Show in 2011. All proceeds from this show benefit the American Caner Society.

I participate in competitions on a national level in both cakes and cookies. I placed grand prize runner up in the 2007 K-Mart Cookies contest and was awarded 2nd place in the 3-D cookie category from the Taste of Home Magazine 2008 Cute Cookie Contest. In November 2011 my decorated cookies placed 1st Place and Best of Show for Cookies - White Rose Cake Show in York, PA. Our cake tasting entry for the 2011 White Rose Cake Show was Vanilla Pound Cake. Our cake placed 1st Place and Best of Show for the tasting division. My Box Turtle cake placed 1st Place in the Professional Division, Best of Division and Best of Show in the Professional Division - February 2012 at the CT Cake Show. In March of 2012 I have placed 1st Place in the Advanced Cupcake Division at the National Capital Area Cake Show, VA. In addition I have placed 1st place in the Semi-Professional Wedding Cakes at the N.C.A.C.S. March 2012. My cake tasting entry for chocolate cake was awarded 1st Place - March 2012 at the N.C.A.C.S.

I am member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Societe).
