My Objective
The objective of my business is to provide a high quality, professionally decorated, custom cake and personal service for customers. My cakes not only look wonderful but also taste wonderful. I make edible art.
My Background
My talent comes from my love of baking at an early age. As a teen I would bake for friends and family. I hold a BS in Marketing and a BA in Business from DeSales University.
In 2004 I was trained by Wilton Industries and started teaching Cake Decorating Classes. Since then, I taught over 500 students the Art of Cake Decorating in Quakertown and the surrounding areas. Every year, I attend training sessions from Wilton Industries to keep current with trends and further my skills by taking classes with renowned sugar artists from around the world.
With the demand for a higher quality cake and my passion in the art of cake decorating, I decided to open Amy’s Creative Cakes in June 2006. I now serve many repeat customers from Bucks and Montgomery counties and surrounding areas.
I taught Cake Decorating at the Cooking Cottage a private cooking school in Sellersville. Currently, I teach the Wilton Method of cake decorating at Michaels’ Arts and Crafts in Quakertown and the Art of Cake Decorating at Quakertown High School and the Upper Bucks Vocational School.
I participate in competitions on a national level in both cakes and cookies. I placed grand prize runner up in the 2007 K-Mart Cookies contest and was awarded 2nd place in the 3-D cookie category from the Taste of Home Magazine 2008 Cute Cookie Contest. In 2009, I organized a cake competition to benefit the Quakertown Food Pantry.
I am member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Societe). |
